We have always taken our dogs on holiday with us and it has meant that we have lasting fond memories of these holidays with our pets and while not all holidays are practical for taking your dog with you there is really very little reason not to take your dog with you if you plan to holiday in the UK, or in France, if that is you live in Britain. Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland as well as the many islands off the British coastline have many ideal locations for a pet friendly holiday, and with a pet passport you can travel over to Europe with your pet.

Not everyone is able to take their pet with them on holiday and fortunately there is many dog kennels that provide excellent accommodation for your pet. Before using any kennel it is advisable to visit and see how well run the business is, and if possible try out the kennel for 2-3 days to make sure your pets settle down well before putting your pets into the kennel for 2-3 weeks at a time. Not all kennels are equal and you should try and find out a good one from word of mouth, talk to your dog trainer or vet for suggestions on who to use.

Orkney Stone Circles, Brochs and Standing Stones can usually be visited with your dog as long as you keep them on a lead.
